Murcia is situated in a beautiful enclave in the middle of the Valle del Río Segura. The climate, the architecture and the way of life make this place perfect for studying Spanish.

Regarding Murcia’s culture we recommend that you visit the well-known baroque churches and, of course, the Cathedral. Murcia also offers hidden treasures in its magnificent cobbled streets, as well as through its 19th century architecture, exemplified in its Town Hall and Casino; with the added delight of its Roman Theatre a must see.

As part of our afternoon activities we will visit museums such as the Fine Art Museum, the Archaeology Museum and El Salzillo.

Murcia also enjoys local fiestas and celebrations throughout the year. The Spring Festival, Easter Festival and the two biggest; SOS and Murcia 3 Cultures are all very different but equally attractive. They all present a type of music and/or art that promotes tolerance, coexistence, solidarity and sustainability. In July there is also the International Folklore Festival in the Mediterranean. Finally, you can also enjoy the El Ibn Arabi International Film Festival in March, bringing with it a week of cinema to Murcia. The importance of vegetables in the Murcian gastronomy is palpable. Going from terrace to terrace and street to street, meandering throughout the city and enjoying the sea air is one of the best ways to get acquainted with what Murcia has to offer.

Murcia is also a great place if you are a fan of country walks. Nearby you can find the Regional Park of Valle-Carrascoy.
