The Spanish school in Málaga offers brilliant Spanish courses. The most popular course consists of 20 hours of classes per week which combines both practical and theoretical elements. We can also offer you intensive 30 hour a week courses which make for the most rapid form of learning.

The School also offers combined courses with specific focuses such as business Spanish, literary Spanish or DELE exam preparation. In addition, we offer the possibility of combining your course with a cultural activity such as gastronomy, oenology, dance or Spanish guitar. The gastronomy and oenology course allows you to get to know better Spanish cuisine and wine. The dance course is for students who have an interest in flamenco, salsa or merengue and, the guitar classes are for those who want to learn or perfect the Spanish guitar whilst learning Spanish at the same time. The location of the School is unbeatable, connected to a small shared house in one of the best areas in Málaga, it is 5 minutes from the beach and 10 minutes from the centre of the city. The School has a lovely garden and several terraces with beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea. The classrooms benefit from a lot of natural light and are nicely furnished. There is also a small library and a bar where you can buy snacks and drinks.

Activities

The School organised activities which help to develop your Spanish skills. They are also a great way to get to know other students and make new friends. Each Monday, new students can take part in a guided tour of the city to help them get their bearings in Málaga. Moreover, every Saturday the School organises excursions to the most important Andalusian cities such as Córdoba, Granada and Seville, or historic Andalusian towns such as Tarrifa and Ronda. The School also organises a wide variety of cultural activities that demonstrate to students Málaga’s important heritage. One of the unique activities offered by the School is Spanish cuisine classes. We will cook and show you how to make the most typical Spanish dishes such as tortilla, gazpacho andaluz, paella and, of course, tapas. In each class you will prepare and cook a different dish. All of the accommodations are situated near to the School. Your options are the following:

Apartments: The apartments are near to the School; within 10 minutes by bus. Students share the bathroom, lounge and kitchen.

Host families: All of the families live close to the School and help the student integrate themselves into the city’s way of life, whilst encouraging Spanish practice outside of the classroom.

Hostel: It is a 2 star hostel; 10 minutes from the School. There are also numerous hotels in the centre of Málaga. We can help you make a reservation.

Málaga has a very pleasant climate. Here you can enjoy many different types of sport such as golf, tennis, swimming, wind surfing, horse riding or hiking. You also have the opportunity to ski in the Sierra Nevada, which is just 125 kilometres from Málaga. Málaga is a typical southern city, where the people are extroverted and kind.

Málaga is also home to some very interesting monuments. The Cathedral is a must see. The building comprises one of the best religious art displays in Spain, built upon the remains of a primitive mosque.

The Alcazaba, an Arab castle situated at the bottom of Mount Gibralfaro, where you will also fort, with adjoin walls called La Coracha, also with Arab origins. Nearby, you will also find the Roman Theatre and the Customs (Aduana) building. In the space of just a few metres squared you can observe the union of Roman, Arab and Renaissance culture.

The Castle of Gibralfaro, build in the 14th century to house troops and support the fort, really is a must visit. It is one of the most visited monuments in Málaga. Its Interpretation Centre delineates its fascinating history.

Málaga is also a great city for leisure and partying. The Málaga Carnival and Fair both take place in the Plaza de la Constitución. During the Fair leisure options are limitless. Almost 24 hours a day you can find huts that offer all kinds of products. Flamenco and salsa are easy to come across in the bars and nightclubs of Málaga. You will also be able to witness bullfights.

Málaga also has an amazing gastronomy. You can enjoy paella or fried fish ‘pescaíto frito’ in one of the many restaurants along the beach; or try tapas in a typical tavern in the Old Town. Tasting tapas unveils a world of recipes and combinations of ingredients. Málaga also has beaches which are great for water sports and sunbathing.
