The Spanish school in Vitoria offers an array of ways to learn Spanish. As well as intensive courses which comprise of 20 lessons a week, there exists the option of 2 hours of classes a day and DELE exam preparation courses. We also highlight the option of individual classes, which can be conducted in the student’s home or workplace. For businesses we provide a special package which is taught by teachers who specialise in commercial and technical Spanish.
The school is conveniently located in Vitoria’s historic centre, nearby the Virgen Blanca and the Santa María Cathedral.
Our facilities are modern. In addition, you can get to know other Spanish language students through social events organised by the school.
Our students have the option to take-part in organised cultural activities.
In our calendar of free activities you will find:
Our students can choose between the following types of accommodation:
A host family: Through speaking with your host family and finding-out about the local area you have a great opportunity to practice what you have learned in classes.
Shared student flat: This is an excellent option for students who prioritise their independence and who are looking to meet new friends from all over the world. Our shared flats include 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and a lounge. Your room will have a desk, chair, wardrobe, blankets and bedsheets; all you need to study and rest.
Student residence: It is situated a 5 minute walk away from the school, in the centre of Vitoria.
Hotels and hostels: We can reserve hotels and hostels at special prices.
Vitoria is known for its parks and greenery, as well as its pedestrian and cyclist friendly roads. The key characteristic of Vitoria is its historic centre with the Plaza of the Virgen Blanca, the Plaza España and the medieval quarters.
The Santa María Cathedral is a must see. We encourage our students to go further than the Cathedral centrepiece and seek out medieval Vitoria.
Gastronomy is another strong point of the city. The centre of Vitoria is full of terraced bars where you can enjoy its famous pinchos. Many of these establishments are situated in emblematic areas such as the Plaza de España or Calle Dato.
La Cuesta is one of the most interesting streets in the city. It boasts a multitude of bars which are always packed, especially on the weekends. The nightlife is vibrant with a selection of bars, cafes and clubs, often frequented by university students.
Vitoria provides a great cultural offering all year round with concerts, works at the theatre, artisan markets and sports facilities, with basketball being the city’s favourite sport.
The fascinating culture and leisure agenda features the following: Dance month, Spring Artisan Fair, International Folklore Festival, one of Europe’s biggest Jazz festivals, a medieval market, a wine festival (at which many wineries from nearby La Rioja present their wine), Pinchos week (where local bars compete to see who can make the best “mini” gastronomic delights)… and many other exciting things to discover.
The most important holidays in the city are those dedicated to the Virgen Blanca between the 4th and the 9th of August, with bull fights, processions, fireworks, street parties and pilgrimages.
