DELE Diploma (Diploma for Spanish as a foreign language): New B Levels

As you already know, the diplomas for Spanish as a foreign language (DELE) are official qualifications that accredit the degree of proficiency in the Spanish language. They are issued by the Cervantes Institute on behalf of the Spanish Ministry for Education, Culture and Sport and are internationally recognised.

And here is the news: For the August examinations in 2013 there will be a few changes, since there will be a new level B module. This means that the Cervantes Institute will offer DELE Diplomas for each of the 6 levels (A1-A2-B1-B2-C1-C2) which correspond to the demands set by the European common market of reference.

Subsequently, it’s important both for future candidates of the exam, as well as for Spanish teachers and teaching centres, to bear in mind that May 2013 will be the last time that the B examinations will be administered. Likewise, the new format will be conveniently published for future examinations.

The Cervantes Institute is currently preparing the promotional materials, distributing plans and is updating the website materials so that teachers and students can familiarise themselves with these new tests. Meanwhile, we are preparing the next new module that can be found as an attached document at the end of this article.

At Instituto Hemingway we know that to have a Spanish certificate – especially nowadays as Spanish is one of the most influential languages in the world – it is an excellent idea since it acts as a tool that opens up many doors both at an academic as well as professional level.

Therefore, we ensure that our partnered schools also offer the chance to undertake specific courses in preparation for the DELE exam.
