Learn Spanish during Semana Santa in Spain

Have you made plans yet for the upcoming Easter holidays? Are you struggling to decide between learning Spanish, and discovering the authentic Spanish culture?
Now could be the ideal moment to visit Spain.
The year, Semana Santa (Holy Week) starts on Friday, 30th March. Semana Santa is one of the best-loved and widely-celebrated religious festivals in Spain.
All over the country, the Spanish celebrate Holy Week in their own particular way. Some of the traditional celebrations are so spectacular that they have actually been declared to be of International Tourist Interest. The celebrations in Seville and Malaga, for example, have been honoured with this distinction. In these cities, the celebrations are a sociocultural phenomenon, much loved by the crowds of locals and visitors that take part every year.
Among other events, the spectacular processions are an excellent example of Spain’s most authentic, and most heartfelt traditions.
Here at Closeteachers, we would like to recommend that you visit Spain during this time of celebration: as well as taking part in the everyday Spanish culture, you will be able to discover some of the country’s oldest traditions.
The possibilities are endless. You could study a Spanish course during the holiday period, or just explore the country, taking in the sights and the traditions of this incredible spectacle of folklore.
See Spain at its best!
