The traditional ‘Carnavales’ celebrations are deeply-rooted in Spain: every year, Spaniards dress up in all manner of imaginative costumes, ranging from the very simple to the elaborate and extravagant.
The Carnavales are one of Spain’s most popular festivals, and although the biggest parties take place in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in the Canary Islands and in Cadiz in the south, every single Spanish city celebrates in its own particular way. But much as the parties may vary, each one is full of parades, music, and fun.
This year’s Carnaval week is from Thursday 16th February until Tuesday 21st, the so-called ‘Carnaval Tuesday’. Why not take advantage of the party season and enjoy a really authentic Spanish experience?
