Spanish courses and snow!

From the end of November onwards, with the onset of winter and the arrival of the first snowfalls, Spain’s thirty or so ski resorts open for the season. The resorts are very well-equipped and have been constructed with ease of access in mind, meaning that they are very easy to reach.

The option of spending the ski season in Spain is especially appealing to those who enjoy snow sports because the country offers many other attractions that are sure to make their stay a pleasant one. These include nature excursions, cultural tours, gastronomic experiences and various leisure-time options.

A winter break could entail a great opportunity to improve your Spanish in a context of cultural immersion, even as you enjoy your favourite snow sport. Therefore, we at Closeteachers are sure that combining a ski break with a Spanish course is an ideal option for those who wish to improve their language without missing out on their week of snow.

The Spanish landscape offers a multitude of excellent skiing locations. In the south near Granada, Sierra Nevada is 3000 metres above sea level and indeed from its mountains you can see the ocean; Valdesquí in Madrid, Valdezcaray in La Rioja and Alto Campoo in Cantabria are all excellent options; and of course a multitude of exceptional resorts can be found in the Pyranees.

If you’re passionate about snow sports, want to discover Spain off the beaten track and are interested in learning Spanish: combine everything in a holiday that you will never forget!
