  4. To book the program you pay a deposit. At this point you will get the 10% discount on tuition fees and insurance for your stay in Spain.
  5. You make your own travel arrangements and pay the remainder of the fees to the School on arrival there.

Salamanca is renowned for its reputation as a university city, is steeped in history with a wealth cathedrals, palaces, churches. Often referred to as 'the Spanish Oxford', this charming city has plenty to offer to visitors who come to Spain in search of culture. In both the old and new quarters, the entire city is built in its authentic golden-brown stone known as Villamayor, giving it a unique and beautiful appearance. Simply strolling through the labyrinth of narrow streets and medieval squares will allow you to soak up the atmosphere of this spectacular city. The 'old town' of Salamanca was also recently declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, signifying its beauty. Plaza Mayor Square, the University, the Clerecía building, the Cathedrals, Casa de las Conchas... there is a long list of monuments, houses and palaces to see in Salamanca, so take your time and enjoy!

With regard to its nightlife, Salamanca is a city where the party never ends. There is nothing like going in search of the next bar to continue the evening, walking through the streets of the old town with its stunning monuments all lit-up, the spectacular Plaza Mayor in particular. The fact that the presence of students in Salamanca is so strong means that the city has excellent nightlife most days of the week. You are sure to find plenty pubs, bars and nightclubs to choose from, with all kinds of music, concerts and films, or simply enjoy a drink in a pleasant and lively atmosphere.

Salamanca's parks and gardens are ideal to relax and enjoy the best of nature in the heart of the city. The famous Calixto y Melibea Garden is one of the most impressive.: Linked with the work La Celestina, and its plants and fruit trees will transport you right to the scene of this famous classical Spanish comedy. The Los Jesuitas, La Alamedilla and San Francisco parks are also great for a pleasant stroll.

If you prefer to be a little more active, however, then golf is an excellent option in Salamanca. Less than 15 kilometres from the city centre you will find three golf courses: Golf Villamayor, La Valmuza Golf Resort and Salamanca Zarapicos Golf Course. They are all very attractive 18-hole courses, suited to players with a range of different skills.

You can also have enjoy the outdoors hiking in the Sierra de Béjar Mountains, the Batuecas Valley, the Sierra de Gata Mountains and the Arribes del Duero area. As you explore these areas of countryside you will discover beautiful traditional architecture in villages such as La Alberca and Miranda del Castañar, you can see fauna such as the golden eagle and the black vulture, and you can go to spectacular viewpoints like Peña de Francia.

How do I get there?

By Train- Salamanca's train station, called the Paseo de la Estación de Ferrocarril, is located northwest of the old town. To get to the old town from the train station, exit and walk left on the Paseo de la Estación. Just past the Plaza de España is the old city.

By Bus- The main bus terminal is at Av. Filiberto Villalobos, northwest of the old town. Buses from Madrid, Avila, Zamora, Valladolid, León, and Cáceres go to and from this station.

By Car- From Madrid Airport, follow signs for Burgos, A Coruña), Recintos Feriales. This will get you on the M-11. Stay on motorway 11 for 9 km. Follow the signs for Paseo Castellana and this will get you onto the Carretera De Colmenar Viejo. Head to exit 10A, 10B, Avenida Ilustración A Coruña

Take the Avenida De La Ilustración-30; this road will change in to a motorway and you should take exit 25 in the direction of A Coruña heading for the M-40. From the M-40 take exit 46 in the direction of A Coruña Head for the motorway A-6 and stay on this road for 30 km.

Head for the AP-6 and follow that road for about 40 km before taking exit 81 for Villacast Avila, Segovia. Follow the road until you reach toll booth Villacast After the toll booth follow the AP-51 for 22 km (13.75 miles). Take the N-110 as you are approaching Villacast and take the N-501.

After 90 km the N-501 ceases to be a motorway but keep on this road until you arrive in Salamanca.
